Attractive designer jewellery pieces lured lifestyle enthusiasts at a jewellery exhibition here which concluded yesterday.

Jewellery designer Bina Goenka showcased an elegant line of jewellery blended intricately with carved gems like opulent diamonds and stones neckpieces, emeralds, rubies and sapphires.

According to Goenka, the collection was inspired by the symphony of nature which depicted the jewellery pieces in various forms like flowers, trees, leaves, branches, animals and birds.

The entire jewellery collection has been dedicated as tribute to Gaia, the Mother Earth.

"The origin of this collection is Mother Earth and the name of the collection is Gaia. Gaia was the first Greek goddess who was born out of chaos. And our collection is based on her and you know in Mother Earth there is a growth, beauty, colour and population too," Goenka said on Friday.

The entire range of jewellery on display is believed to be worth more than rupees120 million.

Anu Sahni, a visitor said jewellery pieces by Bina Goenka are very intricate and comfortable to wear. She also admitted to have never seen such attractive designs.

"The jewellery is very light and is very comfortable too in wearing. Otherwise if you see, the jewellery sets are very heavy and her designing is very intricate. Usually the usage in the jewellery is much of gold and diamonds but they have intelligently used stones and pearls in the jewellery which is looking very good and we have never seen such beautiful designs and the Australian pearls we are seeing is for the first time," said Sahni.

On display were a wide range of gold necklaces, armlets, and chains of uncut diamonds and chunky gold bracelets. By Karan Kapoor (ANI)
